This year has been an exciting and busy one at Solid Power…
In May, Solid Power announced a $135M Series B financing round led by BMW, Ford and Volta Energy Technologies. Ford and BMW also expanded their existing JDAs in order to secure automotive-scale EV solid-state batteries for testing and vehicle integration.
In June, Solid Power announced plans to go public through a merger with Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Corporation III (DCRC).
In September, we announced plans to quadruple our production footprint with a second Denver-area production facility.
In October, we partnered with SK Innovation to jointly produce Solid Power’s all-solid-state batteries as part of the automotive qualification process. SK Innovation also announced its investment of $30 million in Solid Power through the DCRC PIPE transaction.
And in December, Solid Power officially began trading on Nasdaq as $SLDP after completing the business combination with Decarbonization Plus Acquisition Corporation III.
But the year is not over yet…. Today, we are thrilled to announce that we have met all of our 2021 milestones after beginning to produce 20Ah Silicon EV Cells on Solid Power’s Louisville, CO-based MWh-scale pilot production line.
