Leadership Team

John Van Scoter, Chief Executive Officer, President and Class I Director

John Van Scoter has served as our Chief Executive Officer, President and as a Class I Director since June 2023. Prior to joining Solid Power, Mr. Van Scoter served as Vice President, General Manager Products at SRI International Inc. (“SRI”), an independent nonprofit research institute from 2019 until June 2023. Prior to joining SRI, Mr. Van Scoter was the CEO, President and Chairman of eSolar, Inc., an early-stage solar power plant technology company, from 2010 until 2018. Prior to eSolar, he held multiple leadership positions over an almost 30-year career with Texas Instruments Incorporated (Nasdaq: TXN), including as Senior Vice President, Alternative Energy Strategy and Senior Vice President, General Manager of DLP® Products Division. Mr. Van Scoter served on the board of directors of TE Connectivity Ltd. (NYSE:TEL) from 2008 until 2018. Mr. Van Scoter holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont. 

Linda Heller, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Linda Heller has served as our Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer since June 2024. Prior to joining Solid Power, Ms. Heller served as Chief Financial Officer of Swell Energy, Inc., a distributed solar energy resource and deployment platform company, from May 2021 until June 2024. Prior to Swell Energy, Inc., Ms. Heller served as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Deca Technologies, Inc., a wafer technology company, from September 2017 to March 2020, and as Chief Financial Officer of eSolar, Inc., an early-stage solar power plant technology company, from 2013 to 2017. Ms. Heller served as Senior Vice President, Finance and CFO of Power-One, Inc., a formerly publicly traded company with shares listed on Nasdaq, from 2008 until 2010. She has also served as a director since 2016 and as chairman of the board since June 2020 of Active Life Scientific, Inc., an early-stage medical device company. Ms. Heller holds a B.A. in Economics from Rice University and an M.S. in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Josh Buettner-Garrett, Chief Technology Officer

Joshua Buettner-Garrett serves as our Chief Technology Officer. He has served as our Chief Technology Officer since November 2013. Prior to joining Solid Power, he served as Program Manager of the Energy Storage Group at ADA Technologies, Inc., a research and product development business, from 2011 to 2013. He served as a Senior Research Scientist in the ADA Technologies’ Energy Storage Group from 2010 to 2011. Mr. Garrett holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University.

Ramelle Gilliland, EVP of Strategic Supply Chain Management

Ramelle leads the organizations of Supply Chain, Logistics, Facilities, Quality, EH&S and IT. Ramelle is a Supply Chain Executive with 25 years’ experience in leading strategic supply chain teams and has extensive experience in the EV battery space from Ford Motor Company to Johnson Controls. Most recently, Ramelle led the Strategic Sourcing team for Electrical and Electronic Components for GE Appliances. Ramelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from ASU, and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Hyungrak Kim, Executive Vice President, Electrolyte Technologies

Previously served as Plant Manager and Head of R&D Center at Dongwha Electrolyte, Research Fellow at OCI Company.

Ph.D. (Chemistry), University of California, Davis.

Berislav Blizanac, Executive Vice President, Cell Technologies

Senior technology executive. Previously served as Vice President at Barnes Group Inc., and Executive Director at A123 Systems.

Ph.D. (Physical Chemistry), University of Belgrade and University of Calif., Berkeley

Stacy Morse, Vice President, Human Resources

Seasoned Human Resources professional experienced in a variety of industry and high growth environments.
